Cristiano Ronaldo injury: Real Madrid star a doubt for Champions League final after limping off

Real Madrid’s chances of winning

the Champions League took a major

blow after their talismanic

superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was

forced off from their match with

Real Valladolid on Wednesday

night, with the final two weeks

away.

Ronaldo had to be substituted after

just eight minutes of Madrid’s 1-1

draw after suffering a hamstring

injury.

The 29-year-old was pictured

clutching his left leg in training on

Tuesday but boss Carlo Ancelotti

decided to risk his main man for

the La Liga clash even with the

showpiece European final looming.

Real are four points off leaders

Atletico Madrid at the top of the

league with only two games left to

play.

This new injury adds to concerns

about Real’s attacking threats after

Gareth Bale was also ruled out of

facing Valladollid before the game.

Ronaldo left the field in no obvious

pain but being removed from the

match with less than ten minutes

on the clock will be a major worry

for the Spanish giants.

The Portugal international has been

plagued with niggling troubles to

his knee over recent weeks but did

play and score twice against Bayern

Munich in the Champions League

semi-final second leg victory

recently.

Real face fierce city rival’s Atletico

in the final in Benfica’s Estadio de

Luz on 24 May.
