Archos Unveil 50b And 50c Oxygen 5” 720p Droids

Archos has added a couple of mid-ranges to its smartphone lineup today. The company has announced the 50b and 50c Oxygen handsets with 5” Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screens of 720p resolution.

The Archos 50c Oxygen is powered by an octa-core Cortex-A7 Central Processing Units (CPU) running at 1.7Giga Hertz (GHz) on a MediaTek chipset, whereas the Archos 50b Oxygen settles for a quad-core processor of the same architecture and the lower 1.3Giga Hertz (GHz) speed. The Random-Access Memory (RAM) is a lowly 1GB on both of recent Oxygen smartphones.

Archos 50b and 50c Oxygen

The Archos 50b and 50c are powered by 2,000 mAh batteries and offer 8MP cameras that can do 1080p video recording, plus 2MP front-facers. The internal storage will be either 4GB or 8GB on the 50b, while the 50c only has an 8GB version. All three will allow expansion via the microSD card slot.

The two recent Archos smartphones run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and offer dual-SIM support as well as 21Mbps HSDPA. The 50c Oxygen impresses with its 7.64mm waistline, while the 50b isn’t too poor either measuring 8.6mm.
