HTC has been teasing its Desire 820 device on China's Weibo network for much of last month, including the revelation that it'll be the first device to sport Qualcomm's recent Snapdragon 615 chipset, which is set to run on a 64-bit architecture.

Now, the device has been thoroughly pictured ahead of its expected IFA announcement on Thursday. Keep in mind that the leaked images see eerily like the Desire 816, so hold this with more than the usual grain of salt.

Besides sporting four 1.8Giga Hertz (GHz) cores and four 1.0Giga Hertz (GHz) cores - both of the recent Cortex-A53 variety - the recent Snapdragon 615 chipset will also feature the latest generation Adreno 405 GPU.

The 5.5-inch device will have a rather disappointing classy screen of 720p resolution, but will create up for it with a 13MP/8MP capturing camera combo, 2,600mAh battery, 8GB of storage, and 1.5GB RAM.

Meanwhile, HTC also announced another 64-bit-capable smartphone recently, the Desire 510. The Desire 510 is decidedly the less robust of the two, with a quad-core chip and 4.7-inch screen. For more on the Desire 510, check our comprehensive hands-on.
