It seems that there are two Galaxy Alpha siblings in the works – the Galaxy A5 and now the Galaxy A3 (aka SM-A300). This one packs a 64-bit processor but curiously is close to low-discontinue in most of its specs.

A GFX Bench info page reveals a 4.8" classy screen with qHD resolution (540 x 960 pixels) and two cameras – 8MP on the back, 5MP on the front, both capable of 1080p video. The handset runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat and has 5GB of user-available storage, presumably 8GB total.

The Galaxy A3 is powered by a Snapdragon 410 chipset with four Cortex-A53 Central Processing Units (CPU) cores that ran at 1.2Giga Hertz (GHz) for the benchimprint but the User Agent Profile on Samsung's website points to a clock speed of 1.4GHz. The chipset is paired with an Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

We haven’t seen images of the device just yet to disclose if this Alpha sub-series of Galaxy phones will share in the most vital trait – thin, metal bodies. Info from TENAA puts the Galaxy A5 at 6.7mm thick and 126g and its specs are hardly flagship material either.
