HTC has quietly launched an updated version of the recent HTC One. Called the HTC One (M8 EYE), the recent model features just one change, but it also happens to be the one that everybody was asking for. HTC has swapped the 4 UltraPixel capturing camera from the original M8 to a recent 13 megapixel capturing camera from the Desire EYE but retains the second depth sensor. It also gets the recent HTC EYE Experience software from the Desire EYE, but then that is also being made available for the standard M8.

Although the original M8 was critically acclaimed for being an excellent smartphone, the UltraPixel capturing camera on the back was universally hailed as being unimpressive due to its low resolution (sometimes megapixels do matter). The latest update fixes that with a three time resolution boost, although low light performance likely won't be as fine now.

Regardless of that, the M8 EYE is only available in China for now for ¥3,999 ($652) and the only other market where it will be launched is apparently India. So those in other markets might have to import this one, or wait for HTC's next flagship.
