The other UK carrier, EE, is a joint venture between French Telecom and Deutsche Telecom. However, they haven't made a comment about the bid just yet.

The company will create an announcement once it has more reliable indication from the stakeholders of both EE and O2 that a deal is likely. Since the talks are in their starting stage, there's no information regarding the financial outsee of the deal.
