VIDEO: Beyonce - FormationBy KellyChi July 29, 2021, 10:18 pm Comments
Beyoncé is back and she is here to play with NOT ONE OF YOU!
Right in time for her Super Bowl performance with Coldplay and Bruno Mars, the eldest child of Matthew and Celestine Knowles is here to give y’all the business on the track with absolutely no f*cks given. Delivering a Southern-banger titled “Formation,” the cornbread and collard green loving Texas diva gave the Mike WiLL Made-It-produced track exactly what it needed.
Co-written by Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd, the song was released along with its own New Orleans shot visual. Paying homage to her background, black heritage, and country upbringing, Queen Bey encourages us to slay before we get eliminated.
Hosting a cameo from Blue Ivy herself, shots of Bey on top of a cop car in a flooded N.O. street, wearing all black with black men surrounding her, choreographed dance scenes, and everything else you can imagine from her, the five-minute visual story gives fans the response they’ve been waiting for from the Queen in reference to supporting the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
Featuring a young black boy in a black hoodie as cops raise their hands, a white wall reads in black spay paint: “Stop shooting us.” Simple, yet effective enough to get your attention.
“Formation” is available for free download on TIDAL now, and Bey has also dropped her “Formation Collection” of clothing featuring lyrics like “I twirl on them haters” and “You that biaatch when you cause all of this conversation,” “Slay,” and “Hot Sauce.”
“You know you that b*tch when you cause all this conversation / Always stay gracious / Best revenge is your paper,” she sings out as the song closes.
